New ideas are surfacing from the Highland Council regarding the potential Inverness music festival, which may serve as a funding source for various events throughout the year.
We previously reported on the proposal to host a festival at the Northern Meeting Park, offering an “exciting opportunity for something new in the Highlands” next February.
Initial plans suggest that the debut could occur next March, with any profits benefiting other events, including the Hogmanay celebration.
The Inverness events and festivals working group convened to review the program’s development, which included further details about the festival.
As noted in the meeting minutes: “There was a suggestion that the event may be more appropriate for the shoulder months, with the end of March 2026 being considered.
“An update on sponsorship was shared, indicating that, if deemed an annual event, the funds raised would support future Bonfire and Hogmanay festivities.
“Conversations will persist, focusing on detailed budgeting and marketing strategies.”
This follows the letdown for some attendees after the cancellation of the Hogmanay celebration, which had recently undergone a significant rebranding.
