Summer brings vibrant life to Downtowns throughout Long Island, with al fresco events bustling in the streets and on sidewalks. Take a leisurely stroll down Main Street, where you’ll encounter live music, street vendors, food trucks, and much more. From block parties to “Alive After Five,” here are some weeknight events to check out across Long Island:
LONG BEACH’S ARTS IN THE PLAZA
Saturdays, May 24 through Oct. 25

A weekly Saturday arts festival that extends into the fall, featuring vendor booths set up by local artists along with live music. Visitors can browse a range of items including jewelry, artwork, photography, home decor, accessories, and clothing.
THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE IN WANTAGH

Railroad Avenue, Wantagh
This block party features live music and entertainment, fun activities for kids, a video game truck, food trucks, and local vendors.
PARK AFTER DARK IN MASSAPEQUA PARK
June 11, July 16 and Aug. 13
Park Boulevard and Front Street
The street fair includes live music, outdoor dining, food trucks, and drinks.
BABYLON BLOCK PARTY
June 12, July 17 and Aug. 21
Deer Park Avenue
This summer block party series in the village features live music, outdoor dining, and various vendors. Kids can enjoy the Kid’s Zone with bounce houses, carnival games, princess visits, and a DJ. Deer Park Avenue will be closed to traffic between Main Street and Park Avenue, with stages set up at both ends for bands to perform.

GREAT NECK PLAZA’S THURSDAY PROMENADE NIGHTS

This event alternates between two locations: Bond Street (near the LIRR station) and North Middle Neck Road (between Grace Avenue and Maple Drive).
Dine street-side in a European style and join in the excitement in Great Neck Plaza. Entertainment will feature live music beginning with Street Fighter and Liverpool Shuffle on June 26, Gotcha Covered with David Lamm on July 10, Fleetwood Macked on July 17, and The Wood Vibrations! on July 24.
PATCHOGUE’S ALIVE AFTER FIVE
June 26, July 10, July 31 and Aug. 14

This Main Street festival in Patchogue Village occurs on four Thursdays during the summer, featuring live music across five stages. Each event will showcase over 100 food and craft vendors, expanded outdoor dining areas, a midway stage, and family-friendly activities.
