Yesterday’s Clothes—comprising Hampton Schlock (vocals, guitar), Connor Burchett (guitar), Jackson Chisholm (bass), and Jack Ritchie (drums)—dropped their latest tracks “Mind at Ease” and “Years Are Short” in 2024.
Charlotte Squawks, a delightful blend of Saturday Night Live and Broadway, is the Southeast’s longest-running original musical comedy. For two decades, Charlotte Squawks has humorously critiqued the Queen City with witty satire, clever jokes, and amusing parodies of fan-favorite songs. Co-created by WFAE’s Mike Collins and attorney Brian Kahn, the 2025 edition, “20th Censure-y Squawks,” will run from June 5 to 28 at the Booth Playhouse.

Turnstile, the melodic punk sensation from Baltimore will be hosting listening parties at record stores nationwide, including Charlotte’s Hardy Boys Records, to celebrate their forthcoming album, NEVER ENOUGH, releasing June 6 under Roadrunner Records. This album, recorded between Los Angeles and their hometown, is a follow-up to their critically acclaimed Glow On from 2022. California’s own Greer will take the stage at Visulite Theatre this week in celebration of their long-awaited debut album, Big Smile, released under Epitaph Records. Known for hits like “Bittersweet” and “Songs for Me,” the band—consisting of drummer Lucas Ovalle, guitarist and lead vocalist Josiah, guitarist Corbin Jacques, and bassist Seth Thomson—reunited in 2023 after separate pursuits to create this album, joined by bilingual (English/Chinese) Seattle duo Chinese American Bear.

Renowned for their late ’90s classics such as “One Week,” “If I Had $1000000,” “Pinch Me,” and the Big Bang Theory theme, Barenaked Ladies are set to light up Charlotte as part of their Last Summer on Earth 2025 tour, alongside Guster and Fastball. Established in 1988, the quirky Canadian rock band is celebrated for their catchy melodies and humorous performances, having sold over 15 million albums and inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2018.

Surf-rock legends, The Beach Boys, will bring their iconic harmonies to The Amp Ballantyne this week, accompanied by special guest John Stamos.
