Summer Programs at Brooklyn Bridge Park

For 15 years, this park has curated a variety of activities that complement its stunning views. Saturdays in May will host dance classes on Liberty Lawn featuring instruction from companies like American Ballet Theater. The Photoville Festival will feature its annual outdoor exhibition from June 7-22. In August, a Hindu lamp ceremony will occur at Pebble Beach, followed by a marathon reading of Walt Whitman’s poem “Song of Myself” in September, and the season will conclude with the Harvest Festival.
Intrepid Museum Movie Nights
Ongoing until Aug. 22 at the Intrepid Museum, located at West 46th Street and 12th Avenue, Manhattan; intrepidmuseum.org.
Every fourth Friday of the summer months, starting at sunset, the museum will host free nautical-themed film screenings, such as “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” on June 27, in connection with the exhibition “Mysteries From the Deep: Underwater Archaeology.” Movies will be showcased on the flight deck, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Admission is on a first come, first served basis.

Highlights include the Fly NYC kite festival in August, the West Side County Fair in September, and the Little Red Lighthouse Festival in October.
