Highland Council is putting forth new proposals regarding the upcoming Inverness music festival, which may serve to support various events throughout the year.
We previously reported on the plan to host a festival at the Northern Meeting Park, presenting an “exciting opportunity for something new in the Highlands” in February.
Currently, it appears that the festival may take place for the first time next March, with potential profits being allocated to support other events, including the Hogmanay celebrations.
The Inverness events and festivals working group convened to review the progress of the program, which included further details about the festival.
Minutes from the meeting noted: “It was suggested that the event might be more appropriately scheduled for shoulder months, with the end of March 2026 being proposed.
“An update on sponsorship was shared, indicating that if this becomes an annual event, funds generated would help support future Bonfire and Hogmanay festivities.
“Discussions will continue, focusing on detailed cost estimates and marketing strategies.”
This follows the disappointment some attendees felt when the Hogmanay event was cancelled after a prominent rebranding effort.
