Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine had harsh words for Donald Trump while defending fellow musician Bruce Springsteen during his performance at the Boston Calling 2025 music festival on Sunday
At the Boston Calling 2025 festival, Morello delivered a passionate speech against Donald Trump, defending rock legend Bruce Springsteen.
Performing at Harvard University Athletic Complex, Morello’s set included a digital display proclaiming “F— Trump.” He further emphasized his message with a note affixed to his guitar that read: “F— I.C.E.”
“Bruce stands up to Trump because he has always advocated for truth, justice, democracy, and equality,” Morello shared with the audience. “And Trump resents him for it because Bruce commands a larger following. F— that guy.”

The vocal guitarist, known for his outspoken views on Trump and his policies, also referenced his connection to Harvard, an institution often criticized by Trump, as documented by the Express US.
In recent remarks, Trump insisted on cutting federal funding for Harvard and proposed barring international students from attending.
In reaction, Morello mentioned a free online course offered by Harvard that, according to Boston.com, teaches individuals how to recognize the signs of a dictatorship emerging in their country.
This controversy continues amidst a heated back-and-forth between Springsteen and Trump, triggered by Springsteen’s recent criticisms of Trump during a concert.
The musician passionately stated, “In my home, the America I admire, the America I’ve celebrated, which has stood for hope and freedom for 250 years, is presently under the control of a corrupt, inept, and treasonous administration.”
“Tonight, we urge everyone who values democracy and the finest principles of our American experience to unite with us, raise your voices against tyranny, and let freedom ring!”
Trump responded on Truth Social, declaring, “I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak poorly about the President of the United States.”
“Never liked him, never appreciated his music, or his Radical Left Politics, and importantly, he lacks talent,” he added.
“Just a pushy, annoying JERK, who wholeheartedly supported Crooked Joe Biden…who almost ruined our Country…but Springsteen is ‘dumb as a rock,’ and couldn’t see what was happening, or could he (which is even worse! )?”
This dried-up ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied! ) should KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he returns to the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare.’ Then we’ll all see how it plays out for him!”
Additionally, he hinted at starting investigations into Springsteen and other celebrities supporting Kamala Harris as the political battle for 2024 intensifies.
