May 15 (UPI) — Icelandic artist Laufey has unveiled an official lyric video for her track “Tough Luck,” featured on her forthcoming album, A Matter of Time, set to release on August 22.
Released on Thursday, the video showcases the lyrics and chords for “Tough Luck,” intertwined with brief clips of Laufey, as well as visuals of dripping water and a spider web.
The song narrates the tale of a relationship that the singer believes is already destined for failure.
In the chorus, Laufey sings, “Tough luck, my boy, your time is up. I’ll break it first, I’ve had enough of waiting for you to lie and cheat, just like you did to the actress before me — oops, she doesn’t even know. You won’t be missed; I’m glad to see you go.”
This song is part of A Matter of Time.
“I’ve transformed my diary into an album of songs, exploring the full spectrum of emotions — from the beautiful to the ugly — experienced as life and love evolve with time,” Laufey shared on social media.
