Hard rock and heavy metal powerhouse FIRSTBORNE has unveiled “Again”, the second single from their upcoming debut full-length album, “Lucky”, set to release on August 8 through M-Theory Audio. The album will be obtainable across all digital platforms, along with CD and a limited-edition (300 copies) amber wave-colored vinyl.
“Again” will be promoted to commercial and active rock radio as the first track from “Lucky”. It follows the earlier release “Wake Up”, which served as an exciting introduction to the band’s flair for catchy hard rock infused with humor and relatability, particularly seen in their first music video available below.
FIRSTBORNE comprises legendary drummer Chris Adler (LAMB OF GOD, MEGADETH), virtuosic guitarist Myrone (recognized by many as the pioneer of soft shred), and dynamic vocalist Girish Pradhan (GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES, THE END MACHINE). Formed in 2019, FIRSTBORNE fuses high-energy riffs, soaring vocals, and thunderous rhythms to produce a sound that is both modern and timeless, rooted in classic metal, hard rock, and shred guitar.
Pradhan shares insights on “Again”: “It’s an inner conflict… deciding whether to sink to their level or rise above the chaos. When insulted by someone who doesn’t know you, it stings. However, true strength resides in transcending pettiness and directing that energy toward something greater… growth, purpose, and peace.”
FIRSTBORNE, which initially included current MEGADETH bassist James LoMenzo, gained traction through a series of independently released singles and EPs between 2020 and 2023, highlighting their signature blend of melody, technical precision, and relentless groove. In late 2023, they recorded their debut album, “Lucky”, with esteemed producer Eugene “Machine” Freeman (CLUTCH, KING CRIMSON, CROBOT). This album is scheduled for release on July 18 via M-Theory Audio.
Myrone elaborates on the album’s creation: “When Chris, Girish, and I connected in 2019, my top priority was to have us all in the same room to jam. Four years later, we not only achieved that but spent a month in Machine‘s barn in Texas crafting 10 electrifying metal tracks for everyone to enjoy. I had around 150 song concepts prior to entering the studio, yet none made the cut. What listeners hear on the record was entirely conceived and recorded in Texas.”
With Adler‘s iconic drumming, Myrone‘s distinctive guitar prowess, and Pradhan‘s dynamic, powerhouse vocals, FIRSTBORNE stands as an undeniable force in the hard rock and metal realm — delivering high-octane anthems that seamlessly merge classic metal with modern intensity.
FIRSTBORNE‘s self-titled debut EP was released in 2020 and marked Adler‘s first focused band project since parting ways with MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD.
“Firstborne” featured five tracks and two lyric videos, encapsulating years of committed introspection and refined effort towards a heavy yet uplifting message.
Adler and Myrone began their collaboration in early 2019 after Myrone discovered Adler‘s email attached to a Bandcamp sales notification. Adler, a long-time admirer of Myrone‘s talent, wasted no time in reaching out once they connected.
A serendipitous encounter in India, nearly a second home for Chris after eight visits, ignited the fusion of the international group FIRSTBORNE and motivated Chris to hit the studio. Adler met and performed alongside Pradhan during a six-week clinic tour in India in fall 2019. Following the first show, Adler swiftly called Myrone, exclaiming he’d “struck gold” in their search for a vocalist for the then-unnamed project.
Myrone is a producer and guitarist based in Los Angeles, credited with pioneering the “soft shred” genre. In recent years, he has released numerous albums and EPs of instrumental guitar music and amassed millions of Spotify streams. Besides his projects, he has collaborated with notable artists like Rivers Cuomo (WEEZER), SZA, Little Boots, Michael Christmas, and Deaton Chris Anthony. Most recently, Myrone played Guitar #1 in the L.A. production of “Rock Of Ages”, which ranks as the 29th-longest running show in Broadway history.
Adler is a Grammy-winning American metal drummer hailing from Richmond, Virginia. He established LAMB OF GOD in 1994, significantly contributing to what critics call the “New Wave Of American Heavy Metal.” His discography with LAMB OF GOD includes multiple gold records and platinum DVDs, alongside five Grammy nominations.
Chris earned a Grammy for his drumming on legendary thrash metal band MEGADETH‘s 2016 album “Dystopia”. He toured with MEGADETH promoting the album while skillfully juggling, and at times merging, tour dates with LAMB OF GOD.
Chris has collaborated with artists and contributed to records for PROTEST THE HERO, TESTAMENT, THAIKKUDAM BRIDGE, Michael Angelo Batio, and Ron Jarzombek.
In 2018, Chris founded the artist management company Kintsugi Management.
