T-ara’s Hyomin opened up about how she first met her husband, the details of his proposal, and insights into their daily life together.
The episode airing on May 31st of the MBC variety show ‘Omniscient Interfering View‘ provided a glimpse into Hyomin’s life after her marriage in April. Alongside updates about their newly established home—currently undergoing renovations—Hyomin recounted their honeymoon: “We spent about a month and a half in Hawaii,” and shared the story of their first encounter, where her husband, a well-off Seoul National University alum, caught her eye.
Reflecting on their initial meeting, Hyomin shared, “It was during a friend’s birthday celebration at a rented restaurant. At first, I had no idea what his job was, but he fit my type perfectly. I thought he looked great, and since we ended up sitting next to each other, we struck up a conversation.” She mentioned that her husband remarked, “You didn’t come across as a celebrity at all. It felt like we were already familiar.”
When asked if it was love at first sight, she responded with a smile, “That’s how we refer to it,” eliciting laughter around the room. However, she clarified that her husband wasn’t initially a fan of T-ara. “Later, I found out he was more into Fin.K.L back in the day. During his prime, it was all about them,” she revealed.

Hyomin also recounted how her husband proposed. “About a year into dating, while we were watching TV, he casually mentioned April 6 and April 13, then exclaimed, ‘I already booked the venue!’” His unexpected boldness surprised everyone.
Now operating independently without an agency for the past 3 to 4 years, Hyomin has demonstrated her resilience and self-sufficiency. Every morning, she checks her busy schedule before preparing breakfast. Using leftover crab soy sauce, she quickly whipped up a buckwheat noodle dish. When asked if she had made it for her husband before, she beamed, saying, “He adores noodles, so he loved it.”
After her meal, Hyomin started studying finance by watching a video titled ‘Wealth Strategy Class.’ The MCs expressed surprise at her commitment despite her hectic schedule. Hyomin explained, “Since my husband is in finance, I thought it was important not to be completely uninformed,” earning accolades for her thoughtful approach.

After completing her hair and makeup, Hyomin left for her day, making a brief stop to browse furniture options suited to her home’s long, unique layout.
While out, she received a playful call from her husband. Answering fondly, she shared, “I just finished looking at furniture. We had discussed both stainless steel and stone dining tables—what do you think is better right now?” Her caring tone conveyed a warm, newlywed atmosphere.
At the conclusion of the segment, Hyomin had the opportunity to send a message to her husband. She said, “I’ve already mapped out our life, so just trust me and go with it,” expressing her unwavering and genuine affection.
In related news, on April 6, Hyomin celebrated a private wedding at the Shilla Hotel located in Jung-gu, Seoul, marrying a non-celebrity who works in finance. As reported by Financial News, her husband is a graduate of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Seoul National University and holds a significant position at a global private equity firm (PEF). He is reportedly 10 years her senior.
