Forget about pyro onstage; System Of A Down fans brought the heat! This was evident during a recent performance in São Paulo, Brazil. The band shared some incredible video clips from the event on Instagram, and let me tell you, it was absolutely wild.
The footage, captured by a drone and posted below, shows the band playing amidst bursts of flames ignited by enthusiastic fans. With around 75,000 attendees at Autódromo de Interlagos, the scene was nothing short of insane, as fans waved fire spinners throughout the crowd.
Reflecting on this electrifying atmosphere, guitarist Daron Malakian shared his enthusiasm for the Brazilian show.
“If you notice, we don’t have pyro on the stage… but our fans bring the fucking fire.” and “This is not a war zone, this is not a riot, this is a System Of A Down style Rock & Roll concert in Brazil!!!!!!!”
While it may seem like complete chaos, there’s an intriguing level of coordination. How did so many fans decide to bring fire spinners? Their positioning was spot on, as the flames maintained a perfect distance from each other. So many questions remain, but one thing is clear: it doesn’t get more metal than this.
Looking ahead, the Californian metallers have a series of live dates lined up across North America this August. Check out the complete schedule and links to get your tickets below.
