Forth Wanderers are making a comeback. The New Jersey indie-rock quintet—comprised of vocalist Ava Trilling, guitarist Ben Guterl, drummer Zach Lorelli, bassist Noah Yu Schifrin, and guitarist Duke Greene—will soon release their first album since 2018. The upcoming album, The Longer This Goes On, is set to release on July 18 via Sub Pop. Check out the new video for the single “7 Months” below.
Forth Wanderers initially released their debut album, Tough Love, in 2014, followed by their self-titled album released through Sub Pop in 2018. Shortly after their second album’s release, the band canceled a tour, with Ava Trilling citing “a recently diagnosed mental health issue” that she later disclosed to be a panic disorder and agoraphobia. After the cancellation of the tour, the band effectively disbanded.
According to a press release, Trilling and Ben Guterl reconnected in Brooklyn, New York, during the summer of 2021. “We discussed everything possible for around four or five hours,” she mentioned. “At the end of our conversation, Ben asked if I wanted to try making music again.”
Eventually, Forth Wanderers began working on the ten tracks that would make up The Longer This Goes On. The album was produced by Dan Howard at Chateau Grand Studios and Future Sounds in New York, and was mixed and mastered by Al Carlson at Gary’s Electric in New York.
