Drake could take four years off and still remain commercially successful. However, that isn’t what his fans desire, and thankfully, that’s not the direction things are heading.
Fans of Drizzy are eagerly anticipating his next solo album, rumored to be titled ICEMAN. This excitement stems from a flurry of social media activity and hints, including a recent photo collection he shared on Instagram on Friday (May 23).
The photos showcase the 6ix God in various settings, including one where he sports a J Dilla tribute shirt and another where he relaxes in his luxury car wearing a white hoodie. Appropriately, there are also images of icy chains and watches, a snowy landscape painting, a signed George Gervin jersey (nicknamed “The Iceman”), and an aerial view of The Embassy, his mansion.
The final image could be a reference to “Not Like Us,” which is an ironic nod considering his defamation lawsuit against UMG. Alternatively, it’s hard not to associate that cover art with The Boy’s residence.
New Album By Drake
Nonetheless, with “I C E M A N” as the caption, fans are hopeful this Instagram post indicates that the album is on its way. As of now, though, there’s no official release date, leading devoted fans to wish for a complete rollout soon, while others are content to wait for exceptional quality.
Additionally, Drake’s music video projects and new ventures have kept him quite busy. He and Kai Cenat are also focused on their “SOMEBODY LOVES ME” challenge, which promises to be quite special.
There’s also more new music from Drake on the way. For instance, Gordo has teased an entire EP of collaborations coming soon, although no confirmations have been made yet.
Thus, we all need to be patient and hope the OVO mogul has exciting things in store. Whether it will be ICEMAN or something else, we’re here for it.
