In a recent interview with The Rockman Power Hour, DISTURBED guitarist Dan Donegan shared insights about his connections with bandmates, noting that their relationship has deepened over time. He remarked (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Even as we’ve aged, the level of respect and brotherhood has evolved… For 25 years, starting in 1996 when we formed and welcomed David [Draiman, DISTURBED singer], it’s truly a marriage among us four. We learn to respect each other, especially in those early days in the RV… Being so close all the time, we didn’t have hotel rooms, so we were literally in each other’s faces.”
“Everyone clashes occasionally,” he added. “We have our disagreements, but now that we’re older, we handle them with respect. We listen to one another, having our moments — mostly creatively, in the studio, and so on. It’s totally normal. Having been around long enough, we still feel there’s plenty left to contribute, and we aim to keep creating. I believe we’ve just grown closer over time… If there are disagreements, they’re usually brief. We gain perspective and remember that we all want what’s best for the band. We share the same vision, and while we might have different ideas, communication has become easier as we’ve matured. If conflicts arise, they’re generally resolved in about 10 minutes.”
DISTURBED released their latest single, “I Will Not Break”, on February 21, through their own label, Mother Culture Records.
“I Will Not Break” is DISTURBED‘s first new release since the critically acclaimed 2022 album “Divisive”.
According to DISTURBED, “I Will Not Break” is described as “a necessary song about becoming stronger than the forces that constantly attempt to bring you down.” The song features powerful lyrics like “I’ve had enough of feeling terrified, now I’m deciding that I won’t be hiding from anyone,” encouraging listeners to stand firm against challenges.
Producer Drew Fulk, known as WZRD BLD, who also produced “I Will Not Break”, previously collaborated with DISTURBED on “Divisive”, which was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee.
As reported by Billboard, “Divisive” sold 26,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 22,000 in album sales.
On the Billboard 200 chart, “Divisive” debuted at No. 13.
DISTURBED has achieved five No. 1 albums on the all-genre chart, starting with “Believe” in 2002.
The DISTURBED “The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour” commenced in Nampa, Idaho, on February 25. Produced by Live Nation, each concert features two music sets, starting with DISTURBED performing the five times platinum “The Sickness” in its entirety, followed by a full set of greatest hits. The first part of the tour includes special guests THREE DAYS GRACE, featuring the return of original singer Adam Gontier, and opener SEVENDUST, while the latter half features special guests DAUGHTRY and opener NOTHING MORE.
