In November, Variety announced that Lady Gaga would be making a guest appearance in the second season of Netflix’s hit series Wednesday. Her role has now been officially confirmed after her appearance at the streamer’s Tudum 2025 event last night, May 31. Lady Gaga will portray Rosaline Rotwood, described as “a legendary Nevermore teacher who encounters Wednesday,” although her character will not appear until the latter half of the season, which will be available on September 3. The initial part of Wednesday Season 2 premieres on August 6. Scroll down to see an extended teaser from the premiere episode, featuring Jenna Ortega as the lead and Haley Joe Osment as a serial killer known as the Kansas City Scalper.
Following the release of Wednesday’s first season in 2022, a sped-up remix of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way track “Bloody Mary” went viral as part of a TikTok trend where users mimicked Ortega’s “Wednesday Dance.” (The original scene was set to the Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck.”) At Tudum, Lady Gaga served as the evening’s finale, performing her tracks “Abracadabra” and “Zombieboy” from her new album Mayhem. Both performances included elements of the original Addams Family theme song. Check out footage of the performance below.
Last month, Lady Gaga set the record for the highest-attended performance ever by a female artist, attracting 2.5 million attendees to her free concert in Rio de Janeiro. This event was marred by news of a suspected bomb threat, leading to the arrest of two individuals by Brazilian authorities. Since the release of Mayhem in March, Lady Gaga has also taken on the roles of host and musical guest during an episode of Saturday Night Live and was one of the headliners at Coachella 2025. Her North American tour to promote the album is set to begin on July 16 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
