After taking a break from the stage, Shawn Mendes is embracing his authentic self once more. His latest headlining arena tour, which was meant to support his fourth album, Wonder, released in 2020, was cancelled to prioritize his mental well-being. Upon returning with the release of Shawn last year, Mendes engaged fans with an intimate series of performances during his For Friends and Family Only tour. These shows reignited a spark within him that he plans to unleash on the 2025 On the Road Again Tour.
“Honestly, before I performed in South America a couple of months back, I was a bit anxious. I wasn’t certain what returning to the road would feel like, and wow… I had the time of my life. Those were truly some of my best shows,” Mendes expressed on X. “I feel that my time away has enabled me to come back and appreciate how incredibly special it is to perform live. It’s a privilege, and I’m immensely thankful that you all continue to support me with so much love after 10 years. I almost forgot how fortunate I am to have one of the best jobs in the world.”
The On the Road Again Tour will commemorate the 10th anniversary of Mendes’ debut album, Handwritten, featuring a set list that showcases his most popular hits, including “Stitches,” “Treat You Better,” “In My Blood,” “If I Can’t Have You,” and more.
The tour is set to commence in Europe in August, with planned stops in Korovo, Poland, Hungary, Denmark, Germany, Austria, the U.K., the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal. In September, Mendes will launch the North America leg of his tour with performances in Boston, Toronto, Montréal, New York, Chicago, Vancouver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
Mendes will be accompanied by supporting artists Eddie Benjamin, Maro, and Lubiana. “I’m completely enamored with all three of them,” he shared. “I’m so happy and grateful to have them on board.”
Ticket sales will open to the public on Friday, June 6 at 10 a.m. local time. Presales will begin on Wednesday, June 4th at 10 a.m. local time, including an artist presale, local venue presale, and Spotify Fans First presale.
