As her upcoming album approaches, Lorde has been candid about her experiences, from her birth control journey to watching Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s infamous tape. However, she’s remained silent about her thoughts on former Dance Moms star and budding pop sensation Tate McRae. That is until a recent interview on Jake Shane’s podcast Therapuss, where she shared that she is a proud Tater Tot.
“I actually love Tate McRae, she’s so cool,” Lorde expressed when Shane inquired who she’s been enjoying lately. “She’s exceptionally talented and I admire her work. I listened to her new album, So Close to What, and thought, ‘You’re amazing!’”
She complimented the young artist on her dance skills as well, humorously stating that she finds it “somewhat unfair” how talented she is. “I’m like, chill out!” Lorde added.
While Lorde mentioned that she and McRae have yet to meet, Shane assured her that McRae likely feels the same admiration. McRae seemed quite touched, sharing a podcast clip on her Instagram Stories with a flurry of crying emojis, saying, “byee ilysm @lorde.” When can we expect a “Sports Car” remix featuring Lorde?
