The upcoming four-song EP features this track
Just over six months after Christine and the Queens (also known as Chris) collaborated with French disco producer Cerrone on a cover of his 1977 classic “Supernature” during the 2024 Paris Olympics, Chris and Cerrone have teamed up for a fresh single titled “Catching Feelings.” Similar to “Supernature,” an energetic synth line drives this upbeat track, where Chris playfully asserts, “Don’t be afraid of catching feelings for me.” This song will be part of an upcoming four-track EP.
Chris took the reins on directing the music video, capturing moments of him dancing in the studio while laying down vocals, rehearsing a routine in front of a mirror, and exploring the streets adorned with white tulle as veils. Naturally, he remains committed to dancing.
Chris, who also goes by Rahim Redcar, embraced a disco vibe last year with his Hopecore album; the single “Deep Holes” was released in September, coinciding with his performance alongside Cerrone at the Olympics.
Rolling Stone hailed Christine and the Queens’ 2023 three-part pop opera, Paranoïa, Angels, True Love, as one of the top albums of the year. “Listening to Christine and the Queens’ profound, three-act pop opera, Paranoïa, Angels, True Love, takes 97 minutes, but it takes months to fully comprehend,” the publication remarked. “Throughout the album, the French artist … invokes celestial themes, honors his late mother, flirts with 070 Shake, traverses acid rock and dub-infused detours, incorporates samples from Marvin Gaye and Pachelbel’s canon, and delivers some of the most infectious melodies of his career.”
