As the penultimate episode of The Handmaid’s Tale featured an extended sequence of ‘Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)’ last week, fans were convinced that Swift would announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) at the AMAs.
Every action from the ‘Cruel Summer’ artist has been scrutinized for months, if not years, as clues seemingly leading to a significant AMAs moment were pieced together.
Swift’s online store being newly categorized into apparel, music, accessories, and sale spelled out AMAs. Additionally, there were multiple hints pointing to the number 26 (the date of the AMAs in America). Coincidence? Not in the eyes of Swifties.
However, it seems fans might have interpreted the signs incorrectly…
Did Taylor Swift Attend The AMAs?
During the 2025 AMAs, Taylor Swift was conspicuously absent. This year’s red carpet was unexpectedly subdued, with only a handful of big-name attendees appearing, many choosing to enter quietly through a private entrance away from the cameras.
While this did not bode well for Swift’s fans since she has walked the carpet in previous years, we still waited in anticipation.
Despite TikTok reports of the star’s jet landing in Las Vegas and her backup dancers being spotted in town, no sightings of Taylor Swift emerged at the 2025 American Music Awards. The 35-year-old was also overlooked in all six categories she was nominated for, leading many to conclude that she wasn’t present.
With no wins or reason to take the stage, it appears any confirmation regarding ‘Reputation TV’ remains forthcoming. We’ll need to revisit all those Easter eggs in hopes of uncovering the true meaning behind her hints…
