In September 2022, Hailey openly addressed the allegations and confusion surrounding the timeline of her relationship with Justin during an interview with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
“This is so wild; I’ve honestly never discussed this before,” Hailey remarked about claims suggesting she dated Justin while he was still involved with Selena. “Much of the negativity stems from the idea that ‘Oh, you stole him.’ It’s essential for people to know the truth, as there is a truth.”
According to the model, the reality is that “not once” did their relationships ever overlap.
“When he and I started, like, hooking up or anything of that nature,” Hailey clarified, “he was never in a relationship at any point. It’s not in my character to interfere with someone else’s relationship.”
She emphasized her point, stating she had never been with him while he was “in a relationship with anyone,” simply concluding, “that’s the end of it.”
“I get how it appears from the outside, and there’s a lot of perception involved,” she noted. “But that was a situation where I know for a fact it was right for them to close that door; they were not in a relationship at that time.”
