Latto is set to follow up her hit “Sugar Honey Iced Tea” with an energetic new single titled “Somebody,” perfect for the summer vibe. This track reinvents a classic Aaliyah song, and akin to the R&B legend, Big Mama embraces the tropics in a visual that highlights her deep affection for someone special.
With a caravan of love in Jamaica, the Queen Of Da South enjoys the stunning tropical backdrop, rapping about her enchanting romance. Released this past Friday, Latto delivers lines like, “This year I got you on my mood board / I want to live in your skin (Skin) / When I jump out, you jump in (In) / How I fit all this in my pants? (Pants).”
Quickly emerging as a contender for the “song of the summer,” this track features a classic sample, an infectious sing-along hook, and Latto’s undeniable appeal, all contributing to its potential ascent to the top of the Billboard charts. The song’s theme also mirrors the rap star’s clandestine relationship.
Latto Somebody
For years, fans have speculated about Latto’s dating life. Despite numerous rumors, nothing has been confirmed. In various interviews, she has hinted at being in a serious relationship but prefers to keep her partner’s identity under wraps.
In a June 2023 interview with Cosmopolitan, she stated, “If something is special to me, I’m going to keep it close to me because everything else has to be front and center about my life.”
She also shared that her boyfriend provides financial support, declaring, “I don’t pay no bills.”
While Latto keeps her romantic life private, public curiosity continues to grow due to the hints and denials about her relationships. It’s possible that “Somebody” serves as a tribute to that special person.
Latto’s upcoming album remains untitled and lacks a specific release date. Recently, she introduced a new alias, “Big Daddy,” while promoting Carmelo Anthony’s Syracuse induction. This latest name complements her well-known “Big Mama” persona.
