Joey Bada$$ aims to face off against Kendrick Lamar, but it seems his closest competition will be with his associates. Ray Vaughn, Daylyt, REASON, Az Chike, and recently Hitta J3 have responded to the Pro Era giant. The latter has just entered the scene with “THE LAST SUPPER,” released just over an hour ago.
To further provoke Joey, Hitta is using Kendrick’s legendary “Rigamortus” beat for his rap.
For those unfamiliar, the Compton native has been a staple in the underground scene in California. However, following an appearance on Lamar’s GNX, he has begun to attract more mainstream attention.
For instance, Joe Budden and his podcast crew have recognized his talent. They praised his verse but also expressed a desire to see Hitta J3 showcase his skills “in front of the whole world.”
What better time for him to step up and demonstrate his prowess in this entertaining lyrical showdown? “THE LAST SUPPER,” highlighted by Joey from gothamhiphop, may be fairly standard, but the rapping is impressive overall.
We anticipate a reply from Joey Bada$$, especially since Daylyt has already fired off multiple responses in the past six hours, including “AYO,” “ICANTHOLDYOUTHISA,” and “WORDISBON.”
Joey Bada$$ Beef
Overall, it seems like the Watts battle rapper might be wrapping things up (but then again, who knows), particularly with his last track of the three. In it, he took the opportunity to remind followers of this rivalry that it’s all in good fun.
He also makes it clear to Joey and his supporters that it shouldn’t get personal. It’s somewhat ironic coming from Daylyt, considering he did tease Joey regarding the late Capital Steez on “WRD2MIMVA,” yet we can still appreciate the sentiment.
It will be intriguing to see if Hitta J3 and Joey Bada$$ engage similarly to Ray Vaughn. They have been the standout performers so far, and it would be great to see someone else bring that competitive edge that TDE’s rising star has shown. Others have also put forth solid efforts, but with Ray still establishing himself and Hitta J3 gaining wider recognition, it makes sense for him to adopt that same drive.
