Justin Bieber’s Support Band We The Band Joins Avex Music Group

Avex Music Group has officially signed We the Band, Justin Bieber’s longtime backing group, the company announced on Thursday.

We The Band features bassist Harv, DJ Tay James, guitarist Julian Micheal, drummer Devin “Stixx” Taylor, and keyboardist O’Neil Palmer. In addition to being Bieber’s DJ, James has served as Bieber’s longtime A&R representative. Harv has produced many of Bieber’s tracks, including 2020’s “Forever” with Post Malone and the 2021 hit “Peaches,” which features Daniel Caesar and Giveon.

This announcement follows Avex, the Japanese entertainment conglomerate, naming music manager Brandon Silverstein as the CEO of the newly established Avex Music Group and acquiring his company, S10 Music Publishing, roughly two months ago.

“Through my friendships and discussions with both the band and Justin, I recognized how deeply they inspire and believe in one another—not only as collaborators but as individuals,” Silverstein remarked in a statement. “Harv and Tay’s vision, along with the band’s genuine talent, highlighted this as a unique opportunity with significant potential. That energy ignited something within me and the Avex team. We’re truly thrilled about the future.”

Following the signing, We the Band is putting the finishing touches on their debut album, Avex confirmed on Thursday. While no specific release date was provided, the label mentioned that the record would be released later this year and “will showcase various special guest appearances.”

“This has been a dream of ours for many years,” We The Band stated. “Creating our own music that reflects who we are as musicians, supported by a global powerhouse like Avex, is extremely exciting for all of us. We can’t wait for our fans to experience what we’ve been creating.”
