With less than ten days remaining until his military discharge, BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) shared a meaningful and playful update that thrilled fans and ignited excitement.
On June 1, V posted a screenshot on his Instagram Story from a military discharge countdown app that displayed “Sergeant Elio D-9,” signaling the beginning of his final countdown before returning on June 10.

V also updated his profile picture to a photo of himself in uniform feeding a sheep, sparking curiosity among fans. He subsequently logged onto Weverse, the global fan community platform, for a warm and live interaction with fans.
When one fan asked, “Taetae, can I ask you two things? What’s with the name ‘Elio’ in the photo, and why are you feeding a sheep? Please explain,” V humorously responded, “It’s my English name from when I attended an English fairy tale school. Yes, I even bought grass.”
To the fan who asked, “Are you ready with just 9 days left, Taehyung?”, he replied, “Yes! What should we do? What do you want to do?”expressing his excitement about reuniting with fans post-discharge.
When asked, “What’s the first thing you want to do after getting out?” V answered affectionately, “Of course I need to see ARMY as soon as possible. You waited, so what do you want? Tell me everything,” showcasing his deep affection for his fandom.
Before enlisting on December 11, 2023, V shared a heartfelt farewell message:
“I think I’ll miss you all so much. Not being able to see ARMY is the hardest part. Like we always did, let’s create more special memories after I return. I really miss you and love you so much. So please wait for me until then.”
Now, with 18 months passed and his discharge imminent, V’s heartfelt message — “You waited, so what do you want?” — once again reminds fans of his sincerity and love. His words add even more significance to the upcoming return.
