Iron Maiden have officially launched their European and UK ‘Run For Your Lives’ tour – check out the footage, complete setlist, and more information below.

Last night (May 27), the iconic British heavy metal band took the stage in Budapest to kickstart their ‘Run For Your Lives’ tour. This performance not only marked their first gig of the year, but it was also the debut show featuring new touring drummer Simon Dawson.
Dawson joins the band following the touring retirement of longtime drummer Nicko McBrain, who announced last year that he would be stepping back from touring after experiencing a minor stroke in 2023, which resulted in partial paralysis on his right side from the shoulder down.
This tour will also hold special significance for fans, as it features songs exclusively from the band’s acclaimed first seven albums. They delivered a setlist of 17 songs, with nine of those being played live for the first time in several years.
To open their set, Iron Maiden played ‘Murders In The Rue Morgue’ from the 1981 album ‘Killers’, marking its first live performance since 2005. This was followed by the first performance of ‘Wrathchild’ since 2017 and the first time they played ‘Killers’ since 1999.
Other songs that made a return to the setlist after several years included ‘Phantom of the Opera’, ‘The Clairvoyant’, ‘Powerslave’, ‘2 Minutes To Midnight’, ‘Rime of the Ancient Mariner’, and ‘Seventh Son of a Seventh Son’.

Prior to the start of the tour, the band shared a message with fans, urging them to “greatly limit the use of their phone cameras out of respect for the band and their fellow concertgoers”, with frontman Bruce Dickinson hinting that the band would “be doing things we’ve never, ever done before”.
During Nicko McBrain’s final performance with the band last year, Dickinson emphasized that McBrain has not left Iron Maiden. He will remain with the band and continue to record with them on future albums, but will no longer be touring due to his medical condition.
In addition, Iron Maiden has announced an “unrestricted” new documentary film – featuring the final interview with the late Paul Di’Anno. The film, which will celebrate the band’s 50-year legacy, is set to be released later this year.
Alongside appearances from longtime fans and notable names such as Javier Bardem, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, and KISS’ Gene Simmons, the film will incorporate rare archival footage and fresh animated sequences featuring the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie.
In related news, Dickinson recently announced a graphic novel made with soil from William Blake’s grave and shared insights about the Di’Anno-era song he can no longer perform.
