Aimee Lou Wood is said to be joining the cast of Sam Mendes’ upcoming Beatles biopics.

The actress, renowned for her performances in Sex Education and The White Lotus, is rumored to be cast as Pattie Boyd, who was married to George Harrison during the peak of the Beatles’ success.
Speculation about Wood taking on the role has been circulating for some time, especially after she posted a picture of George Harrison and Boyd on their 1966 honeymoon in Barbados on her Instagram Stories in March.
Harrison and Boyd were married from 1966 to 1977, and she was reportedly the muse for songs like ‘I Need You,’ ‘If I Needed Someone,’ ‘Something,’ and ‘For You Blue.’ Later, she was married to Eric Clapton from 1979 to 1989.
Additionally, Mia McKenna-Bruce is rumored to be joining the cast as Maureen Starkey, Ringo Starr’s first wife.

Announced in 2024, the project titled The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event –will have Mendes directing a distinct film for each member of the Fab Four.
Earlier this month, Deadline disclosed the three British screenwriters involved in the films – Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne. It’s still unclear whether they will collaborate or work individually.
In March 2025, Sony revealed the principal cast at the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas. This includes Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. All four films are set to premiere in April 2028.
Last month, John Lennon’s sister addressed the production, mentioning she had not been contacted regarding it and expressing that someone from Liverpool should portray the singer (Harris Dickinson hails from London). “Yes, of course,” she stated when asked if a Scouser should play him. “No one else can capture that Liverpool intonation. Nobody.”
