On the episode of the YouTube talk show ‘Salon Drip 2’ aired on May 27th KST, Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Jong Min, and Lee Joon teamed up with host Jang Do Yeon for a lighthearted and candid discussion.
During their conversation, Cha Tae Hyun shared about the decision to start an agency with his close friend of 20 years, Jo In Sung. “We had been talking about it for years,” he noted. “As we grew older, we realized that once our contracts were up, we wouldn’t have a clear path unless we managed our careers individually. So we thought, ‘If we’re going to go solo, why not do it together?’”
He continued, “The timing was right when In Sung’s contract expired, and that’s when we started having serious discussions. In Sung actually came up with the company name.”
When Jang Do Yeon inquired if they had a CEO’s office yet, Cha chuckled and responded, “We don’t have an office at the moment—we’re currently using a co-working space. I’ll be sure to update you when we secure a proper location.”
Later on, Lee Joon expressed his discomfort with playing a student in a school uniform at the age of 38. Jang Do Yeon joked to Cha Tae Hyun, “Isn’t there a school uniform senior right here? Probably the oldest actor in Korea—or perhaps even globally—to don a school uniform.”
Cha laughed while reminiscing about his experience filming the Disney+ series ‘Moving’ at the age of 47: “I thought I was going to collapse. I couldn’t believe it. I figured they’d cast a child actor for the part. All the other roles were filled by younger actors, but then suddenly they were fitting me for a wig and informing me I’d be portraying a high schooler.”
He added, “They mentioned they would enhance my appearance with CGI, but when I arrived on set, the kids beside me were actual high school students. I felt like their parent.”
When asked about his eldest son’s thoughts, Cha responded, “Soo Chan doesn’t say much to us. I’m not even sure if he watched it.” — prompting laughter from the cast.
