Fifth Harmony is reportedly in talks to reunite as a four-member group, this time without Camila Cabello.
Sources “familiar with the matter” told The Hollywood Reporter that the girl group is planning to make a comeback in 2026, following their indefinite hiatus that began in 2018. Camila Cabello exited the group in 2016 to pursue her solo career.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the reunion will align with the 10th anniversary of their second album ‘7/27’ and the hit track ‘Work From Home’. They are also expected to create a documentary about their return, as well as announce a new tour.
This isn’t the first time speculation about the group’s comeback has surfaced. In October 2023, member Ally Brooke hinted to E! News that they were “working on something”.
Last June, Normani directly addressed these rumors, responding to Brooke’s statements by saying, “I don’t know. Not to my knowledge. But I definitely see that being a possibility in the future. That would be a special moment for sure.”
Normani’s remarks about a potential Fifth Harmony reunion followed her admission of having “suppressed” memories from her time with the group: “There’s so much that I don’t even remember because I suppressed it. That’s just my way of protecting myself from having to deal with everything. But what I do recall is that it wasn’t all bad. We certainly struggled, but what we achieved together was truly beautiful.”
In 2018, Cabello shared her reasons for leaving Fifth Harmony, indicating that she felt “shut out” by the other members while wanting to work on a solo album.
“I was just curious and wanted to learn. I saw people around me making music, writing songs, and being so free,” Cabello stated. “I just wanted to pursue that, but it didn’t pan out.”
She also mentioned receiving an ultimatum: “It became clear that it was not possible to explore solo endeavors while being in the group. If anyone wants to embrace their individuality, it’s not right for others to say no.”
Since going on hiatus, the remaining four members of Fifth Harmony have pursued solo careers, with Normani releasing her long-anticipated debut album ‘Dopamine’ in June of last year.
The album received a four-star review from Nick Levine for NME, who stated: “It’s an album that radiates a cool, calm, and unhurried confidence. Six years in the making, ‘Dopamine’ sounds like the album Normani was destined to create.”
