Latto is planning a summer getaway. Following the announcement of her European and UK tour dates, the rapper is heading to Jamaica for her first solo project since Sugar Honey Iced Tea. The new single, “Somebody,” includes a sample from Aaliyah’s 1998 classic “Are You That Somebody.”
This sultry summer anthem revamps the hook from “Are You That Somebody,” with Latto singing in the chorus: “I really need somebody / Tell me you that somebody / I don’t care about your bodies / Uh, love the way you touch my body.”
Additionally, “Somebody” is accompanied by an official music video directed by Latto’s sister, showcasing the tranquil scenery of Jamaica and featuring Popcaan as her on-screen romantic partner. This release follows her remix of “Blick Sum,” which featured Playboi Carti adding a verse to the popular Sugar Honey Iced Tea track.
The artist is gearing up for her international tour, which is set to commence on June 7 at the DLT Malta Festival in Malta.
