Montreal, Quebec, Canada death metal band KATAKLYSM has unveiled a new single, “The Rabbit Hole”. The track was recorded earlier this year at JFD Studios in Dallas, Texas, Studio City, California, as well as The Cabin in Orlando, Florida, and Silver Black Studio in Laval, Quebec, Canada.
“The Rabbit Hole” was produced, mixed, and mastered by the band’s guitarist Jean-François Dagenais. It includes contributions from Clemens Wijers (CARACH ANGREN), who curated the track’s ambient sound effects and synth elements.
With brutal honesty and relentless energy, “The Rabbit Hole” pierces through the illusion of control, challenging listeners to awaken, resist, and fight back. It’s a soundtrack for the disillusioned—unapologetic and ferocious.
KATAKLYSM‘s Maurizio Iacono remarks: “‘The Rabbit Hole’ marks the band’s first standalone single since the iconic ‘Iron Will’ track.

KATAKLYSM‘s fifteenth full-length studio album, “Goliath”, was released in August 2023 via Nuclear Blast Records. The LP was recorded at JFD Studios in Dallas, Texas, and Studio City, California, as well as The Cabin in Orlando, Florida, by Dagenais, who also produced and engineered the album. For mixing and mastering, the band reunited with Chris Clancy, assisted by Colin Richardson. The cover artwork needed to embody the iconic battle of David versus Goliath theme that resonates throughout the album while matching the music’s power. The band called upon acclaimed Berlin metal illustrator Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE) to create the artwork, which infused the KATAKLYSM aesthetic with a macabre filter that reflects the brooding unease felt during the album’s writing and recording.
