The German metal icon Doro Pesch has unveiled a new single titled “Warriors Of The Sea”, released through Rare Diamonds Productions / Rough Trade.
“With ‘Warriors Of The Sea’, my aim was to craft an anthem that resonates deeply,” Doro shares. “This song is meant to exude joy — both on land and at sea, particularly during one of the various metal cruises — and conveys a powerful sense of togetherness.”
“Warriors Of The Sea” is an enthralling anthem where the legendary artist channels all her vigor and undeniable passion. With genuine intensity, Doro pours her heart into every note, while robust choirs enhance the song’s grand atmosphere. It’s a track that instantly captivates rock and metal enthusiasts — truly embodying what Doro has represented for decades: unyielding heavy metal energy!
Pesch is set to perform “Warriors Of The Sea” live for the first time during her “Doro Metal Queen Metal Cruise” on the Rhine, taking place on May 31 and June 1.
In a recent chat with Gastão Moreira from Brazil’s KazaGastão, Doro expressed her devotion to performing for her fans. She remarked, “The best moment is when I hear them belt out ‘All We Are’ or ‘Burning The Witches’, and I can sense a deep connection, seeing the spark in their eyes. When I know I’m touching their metal hearts, that’s pure magic. And here in Brazil, that energy is through the roof — it’s simply unparalleled.”
When asked how she maintains her enthusiasm after playing more than 3,500 concerts, Doro replied: “Oh, that’s simple — it’s all about the fans and the people. Whether at small venues or large festivals, the positive energy radiating from the crowd makes all the difference. I feel their happiness, and it instantly makes me feel welcome. That uplift allows me to sing better, jump higher, and project louder. It’s an exhilarating experience. Every concert inspires me; I treat each show like it might be my last. Each gig is an adventure, and I never tire of a single song. Even ‘All We Are’, which we’ve performed since 1987, feels as fresh as ever because of the audience’s reaction.”
Regarding her motivation to create new albums, Doro mentioned: “I believe I’m now at 20 or 21 studio records in my catalog, alongside numerous live records, DVDs, and Blu-rays. We’re currently working on a new DVD for my 40-year anniversary. It features a fantastic show at Wacken and a performance in my hometown of Düsseldorf, Germany, with many guest appearances. It’s been phenomenal! Whenever I write a new song, I’m excited, hoping the fans will connect with it. You can’t create the same track repeatedly, but I adore anthems. Hearing people sing along is incredibly fulfilling. I love the headbanging stuff, and the ballads too, as they evoke deep emotions. Every song holds a special place for me.”
On March 31, Doro received a lifetime achievement award in her previous hometown of Düsseldorf. The accolade was presented to her in a grand ceremony by Klaus Meine, the frontman of the legendary rock band SCORPIONS.
This award acknowledged Pesch‘s pioneering career, which started in the 1980s with her band WARLOCK. As one of the first women to penetrate the male-dominated heavy metal arena, she has established herself as a lasting influence in the global music scene. With over ten million albums sold and more than 3,500 shows across 60 countries, the Düsseldorf native ranks among the most successful female rock artists of all time.
Doro‘s recent album, “Conqueress – Forever Strong And Proud”, hit the shelves in October 2023 via Nuclear Blast.
