Babymetal have collaborated with the Russian-American deathcore band Slaughter To Prevail for their intense new single, Song 3.
This track, featured on both the upcoming Babymetal album Metal Forth and the Slaughter To Prevail album Grizzly set to release later this year, debuted today (May 28) alongside a music video. Check it out below.
Babymetal describe Song 3 as “one of the most powerful tracks the Japanese metal group has produced, merging Slaughter To Prevail’s aggressive, raw vocals with Babymetal’s uplifting, melodic choruses.”
They further state, “The outcome is both tense and dramatic, yet meticulously controlled—an equilibrium that the band has mastered over time.”
Babymetal, who recently postponed the release of Metal Forth from June 13 to June 27, have now delayed it again. The new release date is set for August 8. The band has previously unveiled two singles from this collaborative album: Ratatata with the German synth-metal duo Electric Callboy, and From Me To U featuring genre-hybrid artist Poppy.
Other contributors to the album include Bloodywood, Polyphia, Spiritbox, and Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine.
Currently, Babymetal are on tour in Europe, with support from Poppy and Bambie Thug, and they will perform at Le Zénith in Paris, France, tonight. They will wrap up this leg of the tour at the O2 Arena in London on May 30, before heading to North America for a 24-show series starting in Houston, Texas on June 13. The tour will feature support from Black Veil Brides, Jinjer, and Bloodywood. More details are below.
Meanwhile, Slaughter To Prevail are preparing to launch Grizzly on July 18. They debuted their lead single, Russian Grizzly In America, last month, shortly after announcing that frontman Alex Terrible had adopted two bear cubs.
The band will participate in several U.S. festival shows this summer, appearing at Inkcarceration in Mansfield, Ohio on July 19, Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky on September 2, and Aftershock in Sacramento, California on October 4.
